The diversity of Le Marche
The Italian region of Le Marche is also known as ‘Italy’s best-kept secret’. Between the Adriatic coast and the Apennines lies this region not yet discovered by mass tourism. The immediate surroundings of Fossombrone are rich in history and culture. The ancient Roman city of Urbino was founded in the 3rd century BC and experienced a major cultural boom in the 15th century during the Renaissance. Urbino’s historic centre is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Thus, there are plenty of historical and cultural sights to discover. Behind Fossombrone, the Apennines begin and towards the sea about 20 km, you arrive at the coastal town of Fano with a beautiful old city centre and a nice beach to enjoy the Italian sun.
Le Stonghe Estate is the ideal base for visiting Le Marche. The surrounding area provides plenty of sights and offers huge opportunities for fun excursions. From sporty hiking & biking to a cultural visit to the Renaissance town of Urbino or the Roman coastal towns of Fano and Senigalia. Experience nature at its purest and visit nature park Furlo and the foothills of the Apennines. Want to let all the impressions of the past few days sink in? Then unwind on one of the beautiful beaches.
